Ryan "1o57" Clarke

Ryan "1o57" Clarke is a hacker and consultant for the Department of Energy. Mr. Clarke has formerly held positions with multiple three letter agencies both in and out of the Department of Defense. Mr. Clarke is also a former member of the Advanced Programs Group at Intel, and the Professor of Robotics and Embedded Systems at the University of Advancing Technology. Mr. Clarke has consulted for the Department of Energy, the Department of the Interior, several Fortune 50 companies, and multiple domestic and international organizations. He is a Co-Founder of Curious Codes, where he works to bring the joy and mystery of casual crypto to as many people as possible through conferences, events, trainings, ARGs, and more.

Mr. Clarke has served as the official cryptographer and puzzle master for the DEF CON security conference, and as one of the conference organizers. For DEF CON Mr. Clarke created the Hardware Hacking Village, the [email protected] Mystery Challenge, the conference badges, and other events and activities which include aspects of network intrusion and security, social engineering, RED and BLUE team testing, mathematics, linguistics, physical security, and various other security and hacker related skillsets. Mr. Clarke has been featured by Wired, Forbes, the Register, Cnet, and various other media outlets. Mr. Clarke’s academic background and multiple degrees include computational mathematics, linguistics, cryptography, electrical engineering, computer systems engineering.

Neil "Grifter" Wyler

Neil R. Wyler, better known as Grifter, is an Information Security Engineer and Researcher located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Neil is currently a Threat Hunting and Incident Response Specialist with RSA. He has spent over 17 years as a security professional, focusing on vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, physical security, and incident response. He has been a staff member of the Black Hat Security Briefings for over 15 years and a member of the Senior Staff at DEF CON for 17 years. Neil has spoken at numerous security conferences worldwide, including Black Hat, DEF CON, and the RSA Conference. He has been the subject of various online, print, film, and television interviews, and has authored several books on information security. In his free time, Neil keeps himself busy as a member of both the DEF CON, and Black Hat CFP Review Boards, the Black Hat Training Review Board, the founder of DC801, and co-founder of his local hackerspace, 801 Labs. Melanie Ensign

 

Melanie Ensign is a communications advisor with more than a decade of experience in reputation management, media relations, employee education, incident response, disclosure incentives, consumer engagement, and public policy. She currently leads security and privacy communications at Uber and previously served as security communications manger at Facebook. Melanie also leads DEF CON’s press team and serves on the board of Women in Security and Privacy (WISP), a non-profit advancing women to lead these converging industries.
