SAINTCON Scholarships

Since 2015, SAINTCON has offered a scholarship program to provide financial assistance for individuals to attend SAINTCON who would normally be unable to attend. We feel that this is an important program and as such, we have made it a permanent part of our conference offerings.

ELIGIBILITY

To ensure that these scholarships are awarded to individuals who can benefit from them the most, we are placing the following eligibility requirements on those who are apply:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of the start of the Conference (September 25, 2018) (or) they must be accompanied by a adult attendee who is not dependent on a scholarship
• Applicants must not be currently employed by a company who might otherwise pay for entry to the conference.
• Applicants must submit an essay prior to 23:59:59 - September 1, 2018 as outlined below.

ESSAY INSTRUCTIONS

All applicants are required to submit an essay of no more than 2000 words illustrating how a scholarship to SAINTCON would benefit them. Applicants are encouraged to be creative, but all information in the essay must be truthful and reflective of the applicant's own circumstances. We encourage you to discuss your goals, future plans, and how you might contribute to the security community.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

The following information is required for all submissions:

• First and Last name of Applicant
• Gender Identity
• Declaration of being over 18 years old (or) Declaration that Adult supervision will be provided by an attendee not dependent on a scholarship. Name of the adult attendee must be included
• Contact Phone Number
• Contact Email Address
• Essay of up to 2000 words

WHAT DOES THE SCHOLARSHIP INCLUDE?

The Scholarship includes a free pass to SAINTCON 2018 including conference meals. However, It does not cover hotel costs, travel costs, additional meals, or any other expense incurred by the awardee

AWARD PROCESS

Upon receipt, we will review all applications and make awards to those who members of the SAINTCON committee feel are most deserving. Successful applicants will be notified soon after the submission deadline. The number of scholarships will be determined at the time of making awards, and is subject to a number of factors. We anticipate awarding around 20 scholarships, but that number could increase if funding allows.

We are committed to fairness, but as security professionals we understand that there is truly no possible way to ensure a completely perfect award process without introducing many levels of complexity which take valuable time and resources.
