The VENT Event is one where you can come and discuss “purely hypothetical” situations that drive you completely nuts as a security professional.   Intended as a fun outlet for our community to come and tell stories, share ideas, build rapport, and learn from others.

Being our first trial-year for this event, we are actually not sure what to expect!  What we do know is that we often need an outlet to tell stories about our situations and get validation from our peers.  We’re going to try to provide that here.

• Participants are not allowed to share details or information that would be considered privileged or confidential parts of any process.
• All stories must be provided without DOXING any organization or person directly or indirectly.
• Stories of illegal activities performed by the presenter are not permitted.  We are SPECIFICALLY NOT wanting to hear about law breaking.

• Situations or stories about:  Ignored security recommendations, compromises that went undetected longer than they should have, wrong decisions that went right, right decisions that went wrong, Skin of your teeth incident avoidance, incidents that went public, things that drive you nuts.
